Stepping Up to a View

So I am defiantly a few posts behind on the going-ons here in Rome and beyond, but I WILL catch up in the next few days :)

One of the amazing adventures I have been on recently was to....The Spanish Steps!!!!!! Piazza di Spagna was pretty awesome itself, there were a lot of high end stores around, ritzy! in front of the amazing steps is this beautiful fountain called Fontana della Barcaccia designed and sculpted by Pietro Bernini.  I was even brave enough to take a drink! And of course I got water all over myself...

The steps themselves are ginormous! There picture below just shows the top portion of the steps, this isn't all of them. The steps were a result of a design competition held in the 1700s. It was cool to see such a famous place :)

If you climb up to the very top of the stairs by the church you are rewarded with the view below. The little church on top is also very pretty, (as are like every single church in Rome). It was a beautiful day and a wondrous thing to see. The only way to end such a day was with pasta and wine, doing Rome right :)
